Old age and fire injury

Previous studies indicated that the elderly are vulnerable to fire injury. In this article, nature of such vulnerability in terms injury risk factors including age band, gender, occupancy level, deprivation, mobility, alcohol consumption and attempting fight is examined a UK Fire Rescue Service between April 2011 2022. was more common greater individual, likely for males up 74, but females above age, possibly due proportion 74 area time period studied. Elderly injuries mainly occurred single housing deprived areas. Cooking-related accounted 60.2% injuries, followed by smoking-related (14.3%) heating-related (7.2%). fatalities were not included analysis.
